Philosophy for Children or P4C, was developed by philosopher Matthew Lipman in the 1970's. Its aim is to encourage children to talk about ideas in a supportive and collaborative setting.
" The students become accustomed to asking each other for reasons and opinions, listening carefully to each other, and building on each others ideas." he said.

WHAT PHILOSOPHY MEANS TO ME - students' perspectives
Philosophy is thinking hard about ideas. It's the opportunity to share what I think and hear other people's views on the same topic. You might change your mind or you might even agree with them when they explain their point of view. That's what philosophy means to me. ( Isla Year 5)

Philosophy is just like me,
Philosophy is my personality, Philosophy can help you see, Philosophy can help you be. by Luke (Year 4) |
Think by Harriet (Year 5)
