Underlying Problem [Step 2]
Look over your challenges and decide which challenge/s would have the most impact on the problems in the future scene. Your Underlying Problem needs to have these things:
1. Conditions Phrase [The link to the future scene]
2. Stem [How might we - HMW]
3. Key Verb Phrase [What you want to do]
4. Purpose [Why you want to do it]
5. Parameters [Place, Time and Topic]
6. Question Mark [?]
Selecting and writing the Underlying Problem correctly is the most important part of the FPS format because Steps 3 - 6
depend on it. You will never make it to National Finals unless you can write this correctly!
